The society and its partners In 1984, the Marchi industry, called Marchi Industriale S.p.A., became an holding company. At the beginnings it built up a few companies in the Mid-south of Italy, which are specialised in the transformation of basic chemicals and their commercialisation. The head office in Florence, located in the one of the most beautiful parts of the town, will continue to host the operative centre of the group due to the respect of the tradition. Lately, the Marchi Industriale S.p.A. focused its attention on the chemical sector with the following acquisition of the new partner Crosfield Italia Srl. It is located at the gates of Verona and it is specialised in the production and sale of silicates. Being a joint venture with Esseco group Srl, in 2004 Essemar S.p.A. born in order to build a plant for the production and trade of about 150.000 tons of sulphuric acid and oleum per year at the production site of San Martino di Trecate (Novara). Thanks to this project, Marchi has matured a main role in the sulphuric acid national market. One more competency concerns specific know-how developments in the production of Potassium sulphate. Continuous research and experience gained over the years in cooperation with Desmet Ballestra S.p.A. have led to an advance in a technologically advanced industrial process which is adopted both by Marchi in the plant of Marano Veneziano (Venezia) and by Desmet Ballestra S.p.A. in order to produce and sell its systems.
